fatdogsdaddy
I have replaced my head gasket and I am in the process of reconnecting everything. On the rear of the cylinder head on the drivers side is a mount for a ground wire and the top of a bracket connected to a pipe below. Unfortunately I failed to guide the bracket inside the pipe above it while placing the head on and it is now on the outside of the that pipe. It is welded in place on the pipe below it so I can't pop it off and place it back correctly. I REALLY don't want to disconnect everything and lift the head off the motor again. How important is this bracket? Is it just for support or grounding or both? Can I live with it out of place? https://i.imgur.com/1uAREr6.jpg https://i.imgur.com/jrCZKmt.jpg https://i.imgur.com/oZ0rxao.jpg Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
That supports the block vent pipe that conducts blow by gasses to the PCV valve on the intake. Unbolt the other pipe on the exhaust, and the other end at the EGR valve on the intake, and you can move that bracket over and put it on. 1 Quote Link to comment
