This event will be open to ALL 1978 or older Datsuns. This is a free event, no fee to participate or to go through the museum. We do ask that you show off your Datsun and bring a toy for some underprivileged children (unwrapped gift worth at least $10.00) Toys will be given to The Shriners Crippled Childrens Hospital This event is sponsored by The Datsun Heritage Museum and the Southern California Roadster Owners Club (SoCalROC) Come see an 88 year old vehicle that gave Mr. K the idea to build the 240Z All Correspondence should be sent to socalroc@gmail.com The Datsun Heritage Museum is located at: 41610 Date Street # 103 Murrieta, CA 92562 http://www.datsunheritagemuseum.com/ Quote Link to comment

Datsa 66 Posted November 2, 2008 Report Share Posted November 2, 2008 Hey Datsun folks, I am meeting up with some other roadster owners at the Irvine Spectrum at 9:00 AM on Saturday, November 8th for the toy drive meet at the Datsun Heritage Museum in Murrieta, Ca. I think it would be great to have an "All Datsun Run" from OC to Murrieta via Ortega Highway. For those who have never driven it, Ortega Highway is one hell of a fun drive with a twisty climb from the coast through the Santa Ana Mountains that has a breathtaking descent down the Lake Elsinore. The trip down to the lake is incredibly beautiful. However, you need to keep your eye on the road as there are no guard rails on a road full of steep switchbacks. From there we will catch the I-15 South to Murrieta and then to the show. I don't think that I ever seen an "All Datsun Run" and think it would be great. Several of us have decided to meet at the Irvine Spectrum for the drive to the show and do some formation flying down I-5 and then catching Ortega Highway in San Juan Capistrano for a fun drive to Murrieta for the show. The caravan will meet this Saturday at 9:00 AM in the Nordstrom's Parking Lot at the Irvine Spectrum. To get there: From the North - take any freeway to I-405 South and head South to Irvine Exit Irvine Center Drive Turn left and cross over freeway (stay to the right) Turn right on Enterprise Keep going past traffic light and look to left for Nordstrom's Look for Datsuns! From the South - Take I-5 North to I-405 North Exit Irvine Center Drive Turn right on Enterprise Look to your left for Nordstrom's Look for Datsuns! We'll wait for 15 minutes for people to join us and then head South on I-5 where we will pick up Stephen Wan who lives down that way (and he has a nice roadster). I did a google map from where I-5 meets Ortega Highway in San Juan Capistrano in case we get split up. I will give out my cell number at the meet and would like to request someone to be an achorman on the drive to the show. I just want to make sure everyone gets there!
