Aluminum radiator hose size and length.

The radiator on my datsun roadster started spraying the other day so i thought it best to just upgrade and get a new aluminum one. My roadster has a l18 swapped into and the old radiator was a custom hack job by the previous owner. He took a stock roadster radiator and drilled new outlets and blanked off the old ones so it lined up with the engine.

I bought an aftermarket roadster aluminum radiator so the radiator inlet and outlet are opposite to the motor. So i bought flexible radiator hose to reach. My lower rad hose is quite a bit longer than what stock would be. Will this have any affect on my cooling system? Also the hose is 1 1/2 inch and the inlets are 1 3/8 inch. Will this slight larger hose cause an issue?

It is a tight squeeze but i think it will work.

The extra hose length won't cause you any trouble.

The diameter difference might cause a sealing problem. You can try cranking down on a hose clamp, but it's a bit of a gamble. You might be better off getting a hose that fits the radiator and stretching it over the engine side. Heat the hose really good with a blow dryer and should stretch ok.
