SolidZ24x4
Im an idiot, but had no other option. The rotor on my ds front has been getting destroyed due to lack of pads... and I had no other way to get to work, was broke... anyway, turned a $20 problem into a $150 pita. Rookie move... Please tell me the hub housing may slide away from the spindle-bearing assembly easily! Its looks like it probably wont, but I dont have a manual yet so I can't know for sure. Pics to follow. flatcat19
Hold on. Stop. What is your question? The hub and rotor will come off as 1 piece. When you get the hub off the spindle is when you will unbolt the rotor from the hub. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Wipe all that grease off. At about the 11 o'clock position you will see the opening of the snap ring. Take that off. Lay things down in order so you put them back in the proper order. 1 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
The big silver washer will be next. Take a picture after you clean off more grease. I don't remember how these come apart. Nissan has changed the way they do it every couple of years. Quote Link to comment
SolidZ24x4
Rgr, i've stopped with everything for today; got a few wrong parts so I'm going to go at it tomorrow morning. Looking at the spindle assembly, it doesnt seem so bad, as long as I dont need and special tools to take it apart. Thanks for the heads up flatcat. I'm going to fish around it tomorrow, will take lots of pics. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
PM me when you get ready to attack it. I'll give you my number and we can text through it. Should be super easy. I can do a set of Nissan 4x4 brakes in a bout an hour on a lift w/replacing rotors, repacking bearings, and seals. Quote Link to comment
