sdsurf
I have seen at least three different L-series fuel pumps. What is the correct plumbing? Post pics if you have them Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Sorry for the rough pic but you can see the fuel line coming up to the filter then onto the pump then onto the carb. It'll only go on 1 way too... Quote Link to comment

sdsurf
This is what I have. Is the foreground to carb or from filter? Quote Link to comment
slodat
The cheap aftermarket (1 piece) fuel pumps fail within a year or two - always. They are fine if that's all you have, just know the quality is low. The screw top aluminum (Japanese made) pumps are what came stock. They last for a very long time. I have used one off an engine I bought used. It is still in service! There is a guy on eBay, well more like a busines, ebay userid is joetlc. They usually have an auction going for the aluminum Nikki pump. This is a Japanese made OEM pump. They are very high quality. I bought 5 of them the last time I bought from him. I paid $9.99ea!! Pacific coast Datsun
Mike..in your pic the tube coming out of the pump [foreground] is to the carb. Slodat is right..the original fuel pumps are the best & i believe rebuildable if they fail [replace diaphram] That is 1 part ill be looking for & buying every time im at a yard from now on.
