Worked on it a bit more and noticed that the accelerator pump is missing the rod.... lucky I kept this old carby from 20 years ago to rob parts from think I may have to pull the carb off to put the spare rod back on.

Or is it possible to do with the carby on he engine.

Anybody got any picks tricks on removing the 4 bolts holding the  hitachi carby to   210 manifold looks like 10 mm guess I gotta take it to work and put a slight bend in it and naturally the nuts are stripped to shit.

Hey is the dashpot necessary? on this carb it is missing I do have a spare but do I need to put it on?

Read up on it a bit and it says for automatics probably as it prevents an overich condition.Stops the throttle from closing too quickly.

Preventing an overich condition from stalling under load from the torque converter.

that's exactly what it was doing.

So no accelerator pump rod , no dash pot hopfully if I relace this stuff it will run a bit better . guess the kid before me was tryin just forgot a few things or mayby even the person before me .I wont judge.

Well answering all my own questions I guess anyways put the carb all back together with rod and dashpot.

got it back on and running but still runs rough when put in gear .

So I don't have a tach how can I set my idle up ,by ear mayby but I am not that fine tuned........
