ecampvet
Hello all, I am new to the forum and have what to most of you will probably be a stupid question...how can I determine if my choke is stuck open? The truck is a 1984 720 2.4. (286,000 miles) Thank you! Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
1. Warm up engine 2. Remove lid from air cleaner 3. Look. Choke plate should be straight up/down (fully open) Quote Link to comment
Guest Rick-rat
Check when cold, do not warm it up first, press the gas pedal once without starting, then remove air cleaner lid and look, choke should not be straight up/down, should be closed at that time 1 Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
That won't tell if it's stuck open, just that it IS open. If you want to check if it closes when cold, let it sit a couple hours, pop the air cleaner lid off. Don't start the engine, just tap the pedal. Choke should close. edit- rickrat beat me to it. 2 Quote Link to comment
