oceanbeach510
So just put my motor together got it running and ive noticed that the crank case vent that goes to my intake is whistling and the idle is terrible. If i remove the hose it seems to run better but i know that is not good, so i checked out the hose and it seems to be fine so im kind of lost here.. also i pulled the plugs and they were very black and one actually was wet/ black. any advice would be helpful. thanks! ggzilla
The whistle is caused by an air leak. Poor idle is usually caused by an air leak, air leaking into the carb or hose or manifold (also known as a vacuum leak). Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Is your rocker cover hose connected to the air cleaner? Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
The hose from the block should be connected by a hose to the PCV valve on the intake. The PCV valve is a controled air leak that sucks fumes from the crankcase. It can whistle. Quote Link to comment
