Kulper620
Well I put an air fuel gauge in today and at idle it is running rich at about 10.9, when I'm wide open throttle it stays towards about 13-15. But when im cruising at a steady speed it says im lean running around 17-18. I'm running an l18 a87 close chambered peanut head and dual su's, what do you guys think of these numbers and why when I'm just cruisin it seems to be lean Quote Link to comment
DanielC
It is normal for an engine at cruise to be lean. WOT looks pretty good, Idle is too rich. If the engine does not misfire at cruise, and has good driveability, I would not worry too much about the actual number your air-fuel gauge is telling you. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
The L18 will make maximum HP (WOT) at about 12.5 to 1. Quote Link to comment
TENDRIL
wot should be about 12-13 idle 14ish and if your are not pinging at light cruise load it shouldnt be a huge problem however ideally you want all ranges between 12-15 16 at the most atmospheric pressure/ elevation and outside temps will contribute to what the carbs are actually breathing Quote Link to comment
MicroMachinery
Google "Air Fuel Stoichiometry". Should be able to tell you plenty about where you want to be. Quote Link to comment
