Datsunrider71
i recently bought a tachometer for my 71 510 goon and it was missing the needle trim Chrome cover so I got one off of a speedometer but i can't put it on. Can someone tell me how to install it or if the Chrome cover is bigger on the speedometer then the tachometer? Got some picture below Thx Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
First thing I thought of was glue. If it's going to be 'attached' the needle will likely have to com off so it doesn't get damaged. A dab of silicon rtv? Quote Link to comment
KlassicMotion
Can someone tell him, was it just suppose to clip on originally? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Looks like it has tabs that bend around and hold it on. Quote Link to comment
Datsunrider71
Happy New Year by the way. If that's the case I will have to take it apart is that hard too do? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
If like a clock dial the needle is just pushed on but unlike a clock it's spring loaded to hold the needle at Zero. If you remove the needle there's nothing to stop the axle turning and you may not get it back in the same spot. Then again it may be splined? I would just glue it on. Quote Link to comment
