Just rinse the filter off with gas. The strainer is only there to prevent any large damaging debris in the tank getting into the electric fuel pump. It isn't intended to stop everything, that's the job of the fuel filter up by the engine. Fuel filters are to protect the delicate EFI components. All EFI have a return line to the tank and all the fuel eventually gets filtered over and over as you drive. The best way to keep your tank clean is to drive it. You cleaned the lines and tank and have a new pump all should be fine.

Oh... and welcome to Ratsun. Please feel free to post some pictures of your Z and some back story on it and yourself.
