laotsu
Ima bout to intall and break in my longrod LZ2.1 that I just built. Due to the angle of the 280Zx oil cooler adapter I am using the only way I can mount the filter is with it pointing up. I have read somewhere not to mount it this way, why I cant recall. should I break the engine in with the cooler or wait till I have run it 500 miles before I install the cooler? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Changing the filter is messy but that's about it if it's pointing up. Engine will run fine with or without the oil cooler. It's just a level of insurance when hammering it unmercifully. Got the KA24E high output oil pump??? Quote Link to comment
zed
I put an oil cooler on my high-compression L18 - but I've run the truck without it, never gets hotter than 170F/80C even here in South Africa... Quote Link to comment
