D.D.Anderson
Been working hard and successfully upgraded the engine to twin webers. But what should i do with the vacuum advance? any tips? i think "maby" it would be alittle better to have it connected, can i connect it to the manifold or something? Also converted B310 brake booster to a B110 non brake boosting cylinders. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Leave it disconnected. It runs great, does it not? Quote Link to comment
D.D.Anderson
Leave it disconnected. It runs great, does it not? You bet it does! it runs verrrrry well. I will go for testdrive tomorrow and get the exhaust from Magnaflow pretty soon next week. So sure it wouldn't help to have it? someone tells me its important but. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
It is important for fuel economy. But most of us using twin Carbs do not use it because there is no connection for it. You can use intake vacuum for the distributor. Connect each runner to a small vacuum reservoir, then connect the distributor to the reservoir. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
At WOT there little difference. With vacuum advance at part throttle it will drive easier and be more responsive 1 Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Yes, slightly so. A-series runs well without vacuum advance. Quote Link to comment
D.D.Anderson
As it looks like now, the hose is attached to the vacuum clock, and other end is not connected anymore, because the Hitachi 306DCG had to take a partly future break. where do i go from here IF i want to have it attached again? but i have heard people "Recurving" the distributor, but it doesn't look like that i need to do it? The Carbs are specificly Jettet and tuned for A14 spec and "specs" from the Twin SU's. When i started it first time. it run very nice, but i guess i gotta tune the idle alittle up, thats all :) Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Spark recurving is an advanced tuning, it is not required. Quote Link to comment

D.D.Anderson
I have also changed freeze fluid and engine oil brand new. But i smell something strange, is that normal? there is no leakage or anything there. any thoughts about that? Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Something strange is not normal. Could be a mouse has been sleeping on the engine. Quote Link to comment
