supererogator
I did the steering lock and ignition key on my '80. It was easy. I even found one on ebay for cheap (like $20 if I recall). Basically, you remove the housing around the switch and a couple of bolts and you are in. It was in my book, and I followed the directions there. Got a book? Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Or, get a key for it - one keys fits the doors and ignition. The code is on the right door lock cylinder. Some Datsun have it written on the glove box lid. 1 Quote Link to comment
supererogator
Here is a remake on ebay. Mine was OEM, and about the same price. See how the ignition switch and the steering lock are the same piece? Replace the whole shebang, and it is easy and wonderful. Quote Link to comment

They should be able to make you one(or 2 if you were using your thinker) in no time flat. Quote Link to comment
