Front Brake upgrades for 720?

Would like to upgrade my brakes on my 1980 720 ute as i am doing a engine swap and need it to be engineered (Australian motor laws suck) Was hoping for a twin piston (or more) caliper and slotted rotors.

Later 720 had larger calipers and vented rotors as did out Hardbodys. Navera??

Im pretty sure mine is only single piston. are you talking like 1984 Datsun/Nissan 720's?

Well in N America we got brake upgrades for the '83 720 and they continued into the Hardbody. VG30 powered Hardbodys got 4 piston calipers.

So is it just plug and play for the 4 piston calipers from the Nissan hardbody (navara), if not is there a kit i should look at?

I haven't done this but I think you have to swap the spindle also. I'm sure the search function here will find something about it.

Well on our trucks the '83 and up 720 had a 15/16" master and that is also the same size used on the Hardbody. You should be fine even if your master was slightly smaller.

I was planning on getting a 1" master any way or should i just stick with the 15/16" master since its there?

I would leave it. Larger master is not always an up grade. Larger moves more fluid with less travel and will require more effort for the same braking. Smaller master will travel further but make more pressure with less effort but will feel mushy or soft.

Cheers. Also i used the search option and couldn't find any info on swaps. Would my 1980 brakes/spindles fit on a 1984 (only asking this as my 1984 is sold pending pick up) and i want the twin pistons
