wattynz
So reading through that i need a diff with a 3.9 ratio? But is it easier to modify the original housing to fit another diff head or replace the whole thing with a skyline diff? Or even a hilux one Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Why do you need a diff with 3.9 ratio? Larger ratios will accelerate faster (some complain it will rev up too fast, but if speed is what you want, 4.11 or 4.625 is the go). Smaller ratios will return better fuel economy at highway speeds. 3.70 or 3.454. But will accelerate slower. If you are reading an account of one person's build, be aware there are always better ways to do it. Quote Link to comment
wattynz
Sweet as thanks what's the best one to use? Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
There is no best, it depends on what your goal is. I generally consider the best one is the one you already have - less work, less money, and already working. Drive it for a while and see what you think. Quote Link to comment
