camsta97
3 days ago she was running like a race car i had no complaints whatsoever until i began sealing off each individual intake linkage with sillicone, now as soon as i hit 40km/h it just dies and wont restart for ages, what would cause this? have i accidently sucked in sillicone down into the carby, if so what do i do to fix it? 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
When it quits, pull over and look at the sight glass on the front of the carb. Got fuel??? Dirty fuel filter? Quote Link to comment
Ratwagon1600
1. Start by disconecting the fuel feed to the carburettor. 2. Disconnect coil lead. 3. Get a plastic container and hold fuel line in it. 4. Get an associate to crank the motor over. 5. If you get a strong fuel flow you should be able to discount the problem from the carb back. This worrys me "until i began sealing off each individual intake linkage with sillicone" Desktop analysis says it's highly probable some silicone has made its way into the carburettor Most silicone sealents are not impervious to gasoline. 6. Do what Mike said. 7. If it's still playing up, replace fuel filter and clean out carburettor. Quote Link to comment
