Hooligan
Ok, these damn things are driving me nuts. I rebuild both carbs, now I trying to get everything mounted back on the manifolds. Problem.... I have a diagram that shows the breakdown on parts. I am starting to thing that the PO assembled these with a hodge pod of parts. Is there anyway that I can convince someone to take good pics of the linage (carb linkage to be exact) so I can attempt to reassemble these... PPPlease Quote Link to comment
jser12
I second this, I need this to for mine. shit has me at a stand still Quote Link to comment
Hooligan
Yeah I am starting to think this shit isn't going to work. From what I have read they are a mirror image of eachother... mine however are not. I also have 2 pieces of linkage that have been welded Quote Link to comment
jvb5577
Here are some pictures I have.. Not sure if they will help. These are for the 18sss carbs. Quote Link to comment
jvb5577
Are you asking for the bar between the carbs or the the linkages on the carbs as noted in pictures above? Quote Link to comment
Hooligan
Just what you posted above... your a life saver (flavor of your choice) Quote Link to comment
jvb5577
Can describe what each part is for if needed as well. Quote Link to comment
Hooligan
Well unfortunately I see that I have some swapped parts from god knows what. I have a pieced together pile-o-parts. Why am I not suprised Quote Link to comment
jvb5577
That's a huge headace.... I guess you can look at it as you have a bunch of spares... that is if they work Quote Link to comment
Hooligan
Honestly... it's a huge headache trying to sorce these piece by piece. I think I am gonna cut my loss here, sell what I have, and look at a DCOE swap Quote Link to comment
jvb5577
That or just try and find some compete ones. I liked the look of the SUs and they are cheap for the performance gain you get. I wanted to go the DCOE swap but so much money! What you putting these on? Quote Link to comment
Hooligan
620 with an L20 Quote Link to comment
jvb5577
You will be happy with the SUs if you could get them to work. Are they the sss ones or Z ones? Quote Link to comment
Hooligan
Hard to say.... ZTherapy says SSS, however upon removal, they were 4 bolt flanges mounted to a 2 bolt 220 intake. The upper inside corner bolt flange had been cut off for clearance (if that makes sense) Quote Link to comment
jvb5577
Makes sense. So on those the throttle opens opposite than the sss ones. Not sure if my pictures will do you justice. Ask Sealik. He is a dictionary when it come to those on L series. Quote Link to comment
Hooligan
I found a good pic... I have 1 carb that is correct, the other not so much. Linkage is all screwed up on that one Quote Link to comment
jvb5577
Sweet! Hope you get them figured out. You may not like the Z car ones for start and go but once you get up in the rpms they should scream. I would do a needle modification to them so you have a better start and stop. 1 Quote Link to comment
