nismopu
yep the pistons are all thats different. However, not all blocks and heads are the same. The W-series blocks and heads are often found in pickups/pathifnders/200sx's, and late 80's early 90s maximas. They're much rarer to find in 300zx's because the 4/87-89 cars are harder to find these days. Now it sounds like it might be hard to find out where this one came from. Take a pic of the block where the coolant passages are for the heads and we should be able to tell you which version you have. peace. Quote Link to comment
yello620
Do you have a link that describes the differences in these castings? What is the W block? Jason Quote Link to comment
nismopu
http://www.xenonz31.com/Wseriesblockinfo.html there ya are Jason Quote Link to comment
b210in
nismo, are the w series block and heads better becuase of the extra cooling? Quote Link to comment
nismopu
They're better because of full floating wrist pins and thats about it. So, essentially if you were to go crazy all out you could run all the internals from a vg30dett without mods. That would just add weight, but would make it capable of handling 522hp. I don't think your going turbo though, are you? peace. Quote Link to comment
