blackmarkit
Hi guys I'm trying to find out if the z22e (149.5mm) connecting rods have a D81 or U60 casting number. I'm assuming it's the D81 because the U60 is the same rods found in the l20b and are 145.9mm long. Anyways if someone could double check for me that would be great. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
laotsu
Jason Gray says the Z22e has both Connecting rodsCenter to center length, all use the same 21mm diameter piston wristpin.L18, L28, L26--------------130.2mmL16, L24---------------------133.0mmL13----------------------------139.9mmL20B, Z22S, early Z22E-145.9mm*Z20S,- ------------------------??**Late Z22E-------------------149.5m*Z20E--------------------------152.5mmZ24, KA24-------------------165.0mm *Through 12/81, the Z22E used exactly the same rods, pistons as the Z22S. After 12/81 production date, longer but weaker looking rods were used in the Z22E. Motorsport catalog list the Z22E as having 148.6mm rods but if you order these (12100-D8110) you will get the 149.5mm rods. I am not sure if the 148.6mm rods exist or were ever used in stock applications. Part # 12100-A7660 is a 148.6mm rod but uses 23.5mm wristpin diameter, might work well with bronze bushing to reduce to 21mm pin size. **Z20S rod length given as same as Z20E on the incorrect charts, Impossible considering 35.56mm piston pin height! Please contact me if you have a verified length for Z20S rod. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I have a set of Z22(S) rods from a 720 and they are 149.5mm same as the L20B. (using them on my 2.3 build) Just get a set of L20B rods. Quote Link to comment
blackmarkit
Thanks datzenmike. I think you made a typo. Only the z22e was offered with the 149.5mm I know you know but so everyone else knows. But to get back on track it looks like the 149.5mm has a casting of D81 based on the part number.
