PDX Matt
I'm curious if long beds have more leaf springs in the rear than standard cabs? I noticed mine has 5 in the rear and I think regular trucks have 3? 1 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
LOL. You can get yours de-arched for more low. Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
It's more year specific than chassis specific. There are all sorts of different spring packs. '72-74 spring packs are generally far stiffer than later ones even though they're only shortbeds and only have 3 main leaves (plus a monster squared-off overload). 78-79 have 5 leaves but are the softest of all of them, but still maintained the same "unloaded" ride height. PDX Matt
Any idea what the 76's had? As mentioned before it appears I have 5. I ask because if I remove 2, it doesn't seem like I'd lose a lot of quality in my ride going down to 3. Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
Excusing the extra upper overload, this is what a '76 LB had: Same load capacity, just not as stiff as the earlier thick 3-spring pack. 1 Quote Link to comment
PDX Matt
Cool. I'm going to start with 2 springs and see where that leaves me. Quote Link to comment
