Headhunter2099
So I plan on bagging this NL, installing an SR20DET, creating custom HID projectors. And I as things move along I will add more pics. Quote Link to comment
Kirden
Nice 320. How much cuttin will need to be done for the SR? I thought it was difficult to fit anything other than the J series in these. Good luck though, will be damn quick once you are finished with it. Quote Link to comment
Headhunter2099
Well I think I will only have to move the center of the firewall about 4", but I my have to run a water to air inter cooler, but not sure yet, still gathering parts lol. Got to pay for a wedding and honeymoon so the project is on hold for the time being lol. Quote Link to comment
Kirden
That doesn't sound too bad then. Looks like you will also have to re do the tranny tunnel, but that is pretty standard for swaps into the smaller datsuns. Are you planning on laying frame or just bagging from the lowest static point? Another thing to check would be possible clearance. I may be over exaggerating how small the 320 is, but with bags (if laying frame) it seems like the engine may have either ground or hood clearance issues. This could be solved with dry sump or possibly a pan like the greddy one most likely. Just something else to look in to :) Quote Link to comment
wayno
Do you have all the parts for your NL? Quote Link to comment
Headhunter2099
Well the plan is build a full custom frame, I know that I am going to have to move the gas cap opening to behind the rear wheel to accommodate the 20 gal s10 blazer tank. I know that the fuel pump will flow plenty of volume and they have an external fuel filter. I am going to lay frame. I have a Jag XK8 IRS rear end for it that I am going to narrow and then redrill the rotors and restud the hubs. Its easier to just drill rotors every 60-70,000 miles then hunt down a rotor that would work with the this rear end that is already 6 lug lol. The engine is I think 24 inches high, and there is like 28" under the hood, it will be tight, but I found my shoe horn and i will make it work LOL Quote Link to comment
Headhunter2099
I think I do, being I am making a custom NL I am not sure what I am missing until I come across it. I know everything is going to basically be one off, so other then lenses for it I think I have everything. I am looking into have some lenses made, and if that goes through, I am thinking smoked lenses front and back and maybe making some custom LED back plates for both the front and rear lights, but these are just Ideas lol. Kirden
Good deal. You have a really well laid out plan. Here is the style pan I was talking about, should be pretty easy to make one of these. Either that or dry sump would make the fit a little less of a pain I think. Really looking forward to seeing the frame. Haven't decided on bags or composite leaves and coilover for my truck :P Quote Link to comment
