mini&therat
Quick question to anyone - can I easily swap in an 85 non 4x4 z24 in my 83 KC 4X4? Thanks Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Yes. You will need to swap the '83 4x4 oil pan and pick up tube onto the '85 engine. Also late trucks like the '85 may have had a feedback carb, so if it does you may have to swap your '83 carb on as well. Possibly the intake too. Quote Link to comment
izzo
Yes. Tho measure the clutch, also verify the oil pan is the same. if not just swap it. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
2wd and 4x4 oil pans are totally different shape to clear the front differential. All Z24 motors 2 and 4wd had the 240mm clutch and flywheel. Quote Link to comment
