JoeR
So I'm changing out the front bearings on my 720. The passenger side outer bearing is pretty much gone, I found metal shavings in the rollers once I pulled it out! I had a little trouble getting the races out of the ub, but a little work with a punch did the trick. My question is: what is the best way to get the new races back into the hub so I can reassemble everything. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
I cut a slot through one of the inner and outer races and use those to press the new races in. The slot lets the race compress like a piston ring so it slides in and out easily. Not having a real press, I use a large piece of greased up all-thread and some of those thick washers (can't remember the name) and nuts on both sides to press the races in. Be sure to follow the proper torque technique when reinstalling the hubs. Quote Link to comment
nis720
There's a tool so you can hammer it in Quote Link to comment
