Janksun
I have a 75 620 with the original stereo in it, I don't have money to spend on a new stereo so I want to use the original. The truck only came with one speaker in the passenger side, I want two speakers, one on the passenger kick board and one on the drivers kick board. I already have speakers, but I was wondering if I could splice the two speaker wires into the one that comes out of the stock radio and not cause any problems? Quote Link to comment
izzo
It won't cause any problems. But figure you are dividing the 4 watts it puts out (i dont know the actually wattage of the stock amp in the stereo is) by half.... Since its only am you may not have a problem or notice it lol. ajen68510
Wattage is not the issue, its Ohm's , Say the mono system is rated for a 4 OHm speaker. Add a scond speaker of 4Ohms, now becomes 2Ohms. This makes the head unit work harder and often will end up in a ugly dead head mess. Quote Link to comment
