The dogleg has the exact same 1-4 gears as the 4 speed you have now. With an overdrive for out on the highway. It going to be just as tired. Link to comment
PacMan
Mike what u think I should get for my 510 with an l-series and stock diff.. im looking to cruise on the highway. Link to comment
datzenmike
The dogleg is a fine transmission with a 0.854 or 14.6% overdrive. For example... if cruise speed is 60 and you are revving 3500 RPM then this will be dropped to 2989 RPMs. On a small L16 motor this may show up as a small increase in mileage. There are limits to an overdrive though. It can drop the RPMs to a point where the motor is not making enough power to push the car through the wind resistance. You have to step harder on the gas opening the secondary. A car that has had a taller rear end ratio added like a 4.11 or 4.375 and now is using more gas than before will benefit from an over drive. You have more acceleration yet your overall highway mileage is still close to stock Link to comment
