window crank removal?

My drivers' side window will not roll down and I figure I need to get into the door to see whats wrong. Whats the easiest way to remove the window crank? Does one need a special tool? As usual, Chilton's instructions are a little vague. Thanks!

get a rang and shimmy it around between the handle and the door.

the rag will grab the clip and pop the handle off.

mine had a small clip on the inside of the crank. just used a small screwdriver to pop the clip off.

job done.

Yeah just a clip you need to pop off... a small flat screwdriver works fine.

Or floss it out like skib said,,, then its in the rag and not flung accross the shop. Lol, youll get it!

lol screwdriver method is for chumps :rofl:

 

rag takes literally 30sec and the clip is still attached to the handle or is in the rag.

 I use a small flat screwdriver on my window cranks.  I also have use a paper clip with it bent on the tip on other vehicles as well.  The screwdriver works best unless you go to the parts store and buy a window crank removal tool.
