datzenmike
I'm concerned that some member may buy these thinking that they will stop faster because they are 1/ Expensive and 2/ 'Competition' brake shoes. They may be out on the track but they also may have poor braking performance on the street. Track shoes run very hot and work better because of this where street shoes have to work perfectly every time in any temperature and weather conditions. Additionally competition shoes may have more aggressive drum wear. Not trying to dissuade a potential buyer here, just aware that lots of 'competition' or race equipment does not translate over to 'better' for the street. Brakes are by far the most important safety device on any vehicle. They have to work and work every time without fail or lessening of performance. So can you shed any light on these competition shoes? I know brake pad material has come a long long way since the 510 was made. Do these shoes at least meet the specifications of the OEM ones? AIShelby
As the post says competition rear brake shoes. They are of high metallic content and are not intended for street use. They are intended for competition use on vintage 510 or IT SCCA race cars only. Link to comment
