Webber 40's - A little insight... if you have time

I was looking at these on CL and am not really sure what Im looking at. I know all the basics of them but I dont know what little things to look for

 

Are they missing anything major?

 

Do they looks OK?

 

What is a fair price?

 

The guy says they are rebuilt and have about 300 miles on them

 

 

 

They would be going on my L18 in a 510

hard for me to tell, and im no expert but ive been looking at these recently and the fact the they are webbers, rebuilt, and have a mani are all good

 

It looks to be missing linkages and id be curious what its jetted for now

People rarely know how a carb is actuly jetted. But I'd ask for the engine spec for such they where "ran on" for 300 miles. It's set up for cable linkage center pull. So the cable comes up from the bottom. Looks verry clean when installed.

The "carb linkage" looks complete, if your car is cable throttle know you can make it work. I don't see choke linkage, my chokes are up top. Mine are solex's but with the same center pull linkages.

Also wonder why they sent running them know. Did they not work well? Couldn't tune them and went ka swap? Lol. I also want to mention to me, on my phone, the wall of the second runner looks thin or off center,Idk blah blah blah.....

I bought mine for 300 plus shipping. included mani and old school mechanical linkage. they needed a full rebuild and I still think I got a good deal. These look nicer than mine.
