bmacster
I have been gathering data on doing a possible KA24DE swap for the 85 720 4x4 but I wanted to ask a few questions. Feel free to correct anything or add anything. I'll need a KA24 from an early Nissan Frontier (Preferred) or 240SX (Alternative)? The Frontier has the correct oil sump/pan that will be a direct drop in and avoids the front sway bar, correct? I will need to get the wiring harness from whatever donor vehicle. The Z24 transmission is a direct bolt on to the KA I will need to source a 3 to 3.5psi fuel pump and install a fuel regulator? I will need to make/fab up some engine mounts Megasquirt is the preferred fuel/ignition setup? I think I am missing a few things but is this the jest of the swap? Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
forget the 240SX motor, use one from a Hardbody pickup The preferred fuel/ignition is the Nissan setup. Get the harness, all sensors and computer Quote Link to comment

ggzilla
Do you care? Most dont. 1996 up is OBD-2, courtesy of the government. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
3.5 psi fuel pump is for carbureted engines. KA is fuel-injected Quote Link to comment

Nope, not at all, just want to make sure I get everything in line if I actually go forward with a swap =) The more information I can put together and figure out a price, the better idea I'll know to budget for a swap. Snowman
So how u wire in a megasquirt or a can/am to make everything work? Quote Link to comment
Keiffer671
the ka24de fuel pump is about 34 psi with the vacuum pressure regulator and above 40 unregulated. if i remember correctly. in stead of running the old stock harness on mine i'm going with ms2 and my own wiring harness, walbro 255 external pump. DaveZilla
The megasquirt isn't needed if you can get the ECU and wiring from the donor vehicle... If you insist on going the megasquirt route, there's plenty enough info on their site to get you started at least... @ Snowman... What part of San Antonio you live? I'm off 410 and Marbach area Quote Link to comment
