dat521gatherer
sweet 71 i presume. is that a factory fuel door lock? if so how about a close up of the outside of the lock and inside. looks like original paint, with a shiner on the left upper temple. dash pics? nice bumperettes and you have the stock mud flaps. datzenmike
The mud flaps look just like the ones on a '75 box I have. They have DATSUN in faded white on them. Impressive having one on the right coast. Quote Link to comment
Eastcoast521
It's a 72. I'll take pics of the fuel door lock tonight. I can thank the maple tree in my front yard for the big dent in the front fender. Here is a pic of the very cracked dash. I recovered the dash in my last 521 with black vinyl, I just haven't gotten to this one yet. BTW, my 72 came with the mounts for the seatbelts, which I have updated with Dodge Caravan belts. The seats are out of one of the older squarish Caravans - they are a little close to the steering wheel so I may replace at a later date. Here's a pic of a shifter boot I pulled out of some Toyota (I think). Underneath it has a round section that fits the stock hole perfectly. Quote Link to comment
Eastcoast521
Got home late and the pics using flash didn't turn out. I did look at the lock and I don't see any markings. I'll try to get pics tomorrow in the light. Quote Link to comment
Eastcoast521
I was at our local version of pick-n-pull called Crazy Rays and found that the shifter boot is actuall from a Mazda B2000. It fits the Datsun hole perfectly. Quote Link to comment
jefe de jefes
Nice. Thanks for sharing. Can we get a few more pic's of the window vent things near the top of the doors? Quote Link to comment
Kenny.D
Sweet truck dude. I was shocked to see the Maryland plate! I've never seen another 520 or 521 in Maryland. Quote Link to comment
