king bee66
before i start working on this, ive been having a few issues, my speedo doesnt work well, it reads about 5 mph slow, also at lower speeds, the needle tends be a little jumpy, in kind of a ticking motion. also my odometer froze a long time ago... my question is, before i start looking into making gauge faces, should i replace the cluster, or is the likelyhood of them going bad not very great and can it be fixed fairly easily? if i can fix it, where do i start? my car is a 76 b210 Quote Link to comment
NCLNDYM
check for a bad speedo cable Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Bad cable won't fix a stuck odometer. Replace the speedometer, not the cluster (oil/water lamps, etc). Quote Link to comment
king bee66
so thats my only option? lame Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
That's not your only option. You could just leave it and call it good. Who needs odometer? Or take it all apart and glue new teeth on the plastic gears. JBWeld might work to build the stripped teeth back up. Or fit new gauges and clusters with custom faces. Quote Link to comment
smoke'sDat's
I had the same exact problem a while back and just replaced the speedo cable and solved my problem. Quote Link to comment
