Well you can only lower so far and then the shock (or insert) inside the strut is collapsed all the way and when you hit a bump it bottoms out.

 

You can take the strut apart cut a few inches out of the middle and weld back together and use a shorter insert from a zx or MRX to match it.

 

You can also replace the whole strut with a shorter zx strut. The zx strut also includes a much larger caliper and a vented rotor, bigger wheel bearings. You will have to remove the zx spring, cut the zx spring perch off and weld the 510 spring perch on. At this point you may want to cut the spring to increase the spring rate and make it firmer. You should replace the stock brake master to a zx 15/16".
