Quick Intro post

Recommended Posts

I thought I might register here in hopes of being motivated to get my 510 up and running.

Its a retired rally car that was raced sucsesfully in the open class durring the 80's before being stored in a barn for the last 20 years. The original interior is long gone and has been replaced with houndstooth Recaros and 4 point belts and a roll cage. I seem to think it might be a factory BFG ride since its decaled as such and came with 4 very weather craked but good treaded BFG "Trailamkers". Its also got the Hella H4 conversion and fiberglass front fenders.

Its missing ALOT of odds and ends. No interior, missing chrome trim at the front aroung the headlight/grille opening and the front of the hood. Bumpers, sadly, are long gone too.

The engine is supposed to be a high comp fully built 1.8 (like I said... open class) but didnt come with the intake manifold or carbs since they were stolen while it was in storage.

I was thinking or repairing the lumpy parts of the body (not a full resto, just "freshening up") losing the shitty looking square bumpers and putting it on the ground with some KYB GR-2's and custom coilovers. Keep the stock 13" steelies (metal flake red) and run a 205/50R13 road race tire. If the engine thats in there isnt seized I would likley just get an intake and carb for it and run it like it is. If its beat I will probably go with a KA swap (since I can get a donor car for $100)

Il see if I cant get some pics up in the near future.

Welcome!

If you don't send pictures by your second post, then you have to give the car to any member who asks. It's a rule here.:D

Sounds like a nice project for sure. (don't forget the pics.)
