datzenmike
Supplying more info would sure help here. If this is for a 240sx or a Hardbody KA-DE that needs a transmission I would pass on it. For one thing the length will be different. Do answer your terse question...... yes. It will bolt up to it, but some thoughts on this..... The 71B in the '80-'81 S110 isn't as strong as the KA-DE 5 speed. It will work just fine but the DE tranny is best. If all you have is the Z20E 5 speed it's fine. The Z20E tranny has a very low ratio first and widely spaced gears. It has the same ratios as the late 620 and early 720 trucks. This wouldn't be the best choice if running 4.11s or 4.375 gears. Quote Link to comment

Creepy Cruiser
Like Mike said, yes it will work. We actually run one in one of our cars. the only real reason is, the car already had a z20 swap when we bought it and the guy who owns it, loved the shifter location, and didn't want it moved back a few inches when you do a KA trans. We don't expect it to last forever since it's not as strong, but for now he loves it. One more thing. When Datzenmike post info, read it very carefully and live by it. He is the Datsun trans GOD, lol. Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
IF... you have a 510 with a Z20E (or any Z series motor) in it with a 200sx 5 speed and it is set up and running... a KA-E or DE will bolt right up. You will need to concern yourself with the proper size release bearing collar to match whatever clutch is on the KA motor you choose. The motor mounts may need modifying to fit properly. You should use a larger rad. You will need a custom front cross member or flip and weld your stock one... (this is well documented) You will have to remove your stock front sway bar or get a custom one made. (this is well documented) If you have EFI now you can use the fuel delivery ststem you have. Exhaust pipe will need to be matched to your present exhaust system. The rest will be wiring the ECU up. Quote Link to comment
