Niko Posted August 7, 2012 Report Share Posted August 7, 2012 1971 Datsun 510 $2500 obo - Car was purchased from the second owner, who purchased it back in1974 - Runs and drives without any issue! - Clean Title • Interior - Extremely clean, shy from being mint, which is hard to come across on 510s these days - Black, leather seats (front/rear); driver's side seat has a small hole on the left-most bolster - Dashboard has no cracks, everything works (except for radio) and lights up - Heater works and blows strong - Radio included, but does not work - OEM Datsun door stills - OEM 500 Sport Grip leather steering wheel - OEM carpet in great condition - OEM Datsun rubber floor mats, incredible condition - Spare tire and OEM floor jack included in the trunk • Exterior - Overall good condition, minus the rust (described later) - Seafoam Green (5-6/10 condition, no clear coat) - Body is very straight with no major dings/dents - New/cleaned Sylvania headlights - All headlights, blinkers and tail lights work - Front grille in straight and has Datsun emblem included - Antenna pulls out and retracts (manually) - Windshield wipers work - Key holes/handles are in great condition; key goes in and out of locks flawlessly - All glass is intact (front, sides, rear quarters and rear) - Has OEM optional locking gas lid (rare option) - 155/80/13 tires with OEM wheels and hubcaps - 2 spare OEM hubcaps included with sale • Engine - 1.6L straight-4 L16 motor that runs and starts up great - 4-speed manual transmission - 46,839 original miles - Weber Carburetor - Electronic Choke - Drives at 60 to 70 miles per hour for long distances no problem • Areas of attention - Has a small oil leak coming from thw mechanical fuel pump which is also causing it to bog on start up - Passenger side window regulator does not work - Paint is chipping and faded, with no clear coat - Cracked front windshield - There is a lot of rust (see below) • Rust - There is surface rust all around the car, ranging from minor to moderate - There is rust behind the front and rear bumpers - The biggest spot of rust is on the lower left rear rocker panel, about the size of a deck of cards - Passenger side fender has very small amount on the top, next to the hood (common issue) - Spare tire trunk well has rust through, about the size of a quarter - Passenger right rear rocker panel is lifting from the chassis Overall, this is a great Datsun 510 with a lot of potential, whether you want to restore it back to its original state or make it into a Rat Rod! contact me at 425-446-1038 all reasonable offers will be responded too.
