banzai510(hainz)
I would look at rockauto.com ad ck the part numbers. Might be same as a 70-72 datsun 510 part number . If yes Im sure soembody has one lying around they dont want. However you are in NH which is not Datsun friendly Link to comment
z-ya
NH is not old Japanese car friendly in general. Too much salt in the winter. I need the alternator for my GT-5 1200 that I will be running in Vintage racing. I'm not a big fan of doing 1 hour enduros on battery power only. Rock auto has them Link to comment
ggzilla
You can buy these at RockAuto or national auto parts stores. Not rare. 521, 510, 620 and Datsun 1200 used the same unit. Make sure it is 35A, because 620 used three different kinds. Or, buy a 1980 Datsun 720 Pickup 35A alternator. It's a direct bolt-on, then remove the external voltage regulator and jump two wires. z-ya
Thanks for the tip on the pickup alternator! I just want to make sure it line up with the crank and water pump pulley OK. I have an A15 alternator, but it doesn't fit as those mounted on the opposite side of the engine. Link to comment
ggzilla
A15 alternator is not the same as a Datsun 1200 alternator in any way. What is your question? Link to comment
