the first post is corrcect on the photo of the spindal.

But since your out of timming slot one cheats and moves the oil spindal one tooth to the direction you need to go(#1 plug wire). say what leacaen had posted photo wise.(but otherwise it would be wrong)

But GGzilla is correct the next guy will get confused.

 

If you watch my vid early I say just briefly look where everthing is at before you strip it down. One can tell if mismatched parts were used.

 

 

also to find TDC compression stroke youdont need to pull the valve cover except to ck the timming mark on the cam. But otherwise I dial the motor close to Zero and look at the cam lobe and when its rounding 9 oclock and then dial it in with the timminplate or post at the crank to Zero.
