1980 Datsun 1200 Ute (Daily Driver)

Recommended Posts

Well this is my project 1980 Datsun 1200 Ute (Daily Driver)

At the moment it's a bit of a mess, because it's my daily driver, work on her is a bit slow progressing.... I do 700km weekly.... this engine is coming up to 50000km.... and the Ute itself is close to 250000km.... It's still pretty tight! It has not let me down yet!

Make: Datsun

Model: 1200 Utility

Year: 1980

Engine: A15, running a stronger cam, and jetted for octane mix

Brakes: 180B disk front and drums rear

Trans: 5 speed sunny

Diff: H165

Interior: Shit fight.... massive WIP!

I have about 12 months until I have my full licence, so I'm looking into a set of Twin 40 DHLA Delloto carbs.... other than that it's the interior that need a overhaul!

Also getting a hard lid for the tray made up.

I'll let the pics speak for themselves....

Neat! I love it when Ausie stuff pops up on here! Cool car had never seen an '80 before. Ditch the fogs makes it look buck toothed lol rest is looking excellent

Lot of work to be done.... nah need the fogs for twilight driving out here on the country roads.... don't want to hit a roo again....

Just got myself a pulsar to use as a DD while I work on her....

The more I look at it the more I keep thinking I need to ship a ute over to Maui lol I just sold my '79 210 hatch and I am seriously thinking I better save up and get one of these things. Haha how much are these going for anyways?

Not cheap bro.... anywhere between AUS$3000-$25000.... got this one for $7500.... sounds steep but so worth it!

I figured somewhere in that range. Plus another 2k to ship. Maybe when I'm Rich lol. That one sounds worth it it me looks cherry too. Maybe run round fog lights? The box ones just throw of the round everything else on the car.

Yea I just had them lying around.... will take off once I get the HID's fixed....

Nice ride and rare.

Very cool. And welcome!

IMHO seats and rims look a little cheesy (as well as the fog lights, but I understand why you have them on), but the rest of the truck is clean. I love the color. Hope to see more of the car...

I'm sure it's a regional thing. And I hope to see more of it too.
