datzenmike Posted April 28, 2012 Report Share Posted April 28, 2012 The speedo pinions have a plastic gear on the end with different tooth counts to allow for different tire/rim sizes and differential gear ratios. If the 5 speed was from an '85 like in your profile just use your old one, as it's matched to your rear end/tire size. Need more info on what it was out of and what it's going into. Link to comment
