The end spacer with the lip around the outer edge should slip over the end of the crankshaft, then the flex plate and then the other flat disc spacer behind to sandwich it.

 

All crankshaft bolts I know of have a wide shoulder to take the place of a washer. Washers are advised if you don't hav the proper bolts.

Would you know if these torque settings you posted in 09 for a 78 L20b are correct for 1967? Thanks again.....Mike

Drive plate (or flex plate) to crank bolt torque................. 101-116 ft. lbs.

 

Drive plate to torque converter........................................ 29-36 ft. lbs
