620 Front Disc Conversion

ALLCAPS

Recommended Posts

Hey Ratsun!

I picked up a 620 few months ago and i am finally digging into the front disc conversion. I have limited experience with wrenching in general so i had a few questions.

Here is a pic of the driver side so far:

-D21 calipers

-Isuzu rotors

-DatsunParts conversion brackets

All seems to be going well but I have some basic questions:

Should i be using locktite on the caliper conversion plate and the caliper mount bolts?

What are the torque specs on these bolts? (I have them a 60 ft/lbs currently)

I mounted the caliper marked with an "L" on the drivers side- is this correct?

Which side of the caliper do the wear indicators on the pads go?

The nut that the holds the bearing on the spindle - How tight should this be? (I made tight enough so there is no side to side play)

Thanks in advance for the help and any advice you want to throw my way!

I will take step my step pics of the passenger side after i wrap up the drivers side.

This is directly from the haynes manual pertaining to the spindle nut.

Install washer and spindle nut. Tighten the nut to 25-29 ft lbs. Spin the rotor and hub assembly to seat the bearings. Re-torque, then loosen the nut 45 degrees.

Install the adjusting cap and tighten until any of its grooves align with the hole in the spindle. Do not tighten the nut any more than 15 degrees. Install carter pin, bend the ends over until they are flat against the nut. Install dust cap
