It's going into a 240Z so not only would I prefer the gearing of a 280zx trans but it's less work. I'm open to what you have if I can make it work, so speak up! Got cashola! Might have some trades?... like a 240Z 2 4 speeds lol, E31 bare casting, some factory rod bearings, various rods/pistons KA/L24/L28, aluminum valve retainers, a Maxima KA24de (it's FWD, my mistake, but I've been saving it for a project), L6 valve covers Hit me up! datzenmike Posted April 6, 2012 Report Share Posted April 6, 2012 I assume by the "gearing of a 280zx trans" you're looking for the tall tall over drive 5th gear transmission? If so you don't want the '79 zx... it's the same as the '77 and '78 gears. What you want is an '80-'83 zx.
