has any one stroked an l16 with a l20 crank

The big issue is the main bearings are smaller in the L16, so either the block would have to be linebored to use the L20B bearings or the crank main journals turned down.

 

The other issue is the increased stroke exceeds the block deck of the L16. Shorter rods will reduce that, but that increases side load on the pistons and will wear the bores out faster. There's a reason the L20B was built with a taller deck.
