so i know in most cars you want cold are intakes but in my 82 sentra i have 2 hoses going from my exhaust back to my intake. im not sure what they really do. and i kinda want to get rid of them but i dont want to hurt the car or lose any gas millage or power (the little it has). so i was just wondering if any one knew what the point of the hoses is and the ups and downs to taking them off or keeping them.

if any one want to trade a 510 for a 82 sentra let me know. lol

Yeah once he changed it to the air box I knew it was the air injection. It uses one way reed valves at the air filter and relies on negative exhaust pulses to draw in little puffs of air to mix with the exhaust to help it burn in the catalytic converter.

Totally passive system, uses no power to run, has no effect on performance whatever.
