sjdon67
Today I tested my engine compression, I want to make sure the rings and valves are still good before I start working on the car. Here are the results. 1 = 170 2 = 185 3 = 180 4 = 180 Are these results decent or with in range for a 1977 Datsun B210? I did squirt some oil down the number 1 cylinder to see if the number would rise and it did. Perhaps I used too much because the pressure was way over 250. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
On a 77? I'd be stoked. Quote Link to comment
sjdon67
So even if the lowest is 170 and the highest 185 they pistons and valves should be good? The car dont run right now correctly but I want to make sure its worth my time to fix it. Can be that much wrong with it though. Quote Link to comment
DISLEXICDIME
did you test the engine warmed up and with the throttle open? are the valves adjusted right? Quote Link to comment
sjdon67
did you test the engine warmed up and with the throttle open? are the valves adjusted right? Actually I havenet been able to warm the car up all the way because it dont stay running. I do think I will try adjusting the valves. The throttle i think is stuck open as it does not close much.
