rsdaumer
hey everyone. saw this on ebay and wanted to make sure i was correct. dude says its a 72 but i find that hard to believe cause the data plate says it has an L20B and its a long bed...cant be a 72, right? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-1972-Datsun-620-/180828268374?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item2a1a346756#ht_500wt_1182 Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
It's a '76. MAYBE a '77 but more likely a '76. Why they say '72 I don't know, but I'd worry about the title matching the truck. Quote Link to comment

datsunaholic
The dataplate on 620s was always screwed to the inner fender. But it's a '76-77 dataplate anyway. HLG prefix is clearly visible... no '72 would have that. That's not changed; the emissions sticker is on the firewall right where it should be for a '76 too. I doubt the VIN plates are tampered with, BUT the paperwork might not match the truck at all. The doortag plate might still be wrong. The one that matters is the one engraved on the frame. Really, it COULD simply be a mistype in the ad, but sometimes the title is nothing more than a "paper truck". Quote Link to comment
Steroid
NO plastic side vents on the cab......... NOT a '72. Also, an easy way to tell a '72 from a '73 is the total of front "tow eyes". A 1972 always has just one, all other years have 2. Don't forget too, early 1972s do NOT have interior arm door rests, just plastic door closers like 521s. Quote Link to comment
