Will, the L16/18 stock manifold is actually a cast header as it is. There's virtually nothing gained by getting rid of it for a header. Headers often don't fit and seal properly, (and leak) they rust, they are loud, unless free cost something, a pain to install. The stock system is none of these.

The studs were rusted/broken off of my manifold, and the exhaust pipe is now held on by bolts instead of the studs. They were really tricky to install! I'm actually looking for something that won't be as much of a pain to install as those bolts at the flange, and a header seemed like an okay idea.

 

I still have the L18 exhaust manifold, but the tabs were thicker than the L16 manifold, so I'd need to replace some of the studs in the cylinder head to get it to fit. -that might be the way to go.
