metalmonkey47
Found this when crawling under the truck to remove the cross brace and drop the oil pan (for the gasket.) It's on the timing cover just next to the oil pump below the crank. I've had no issues, but I'm pretty confident that the timing chain must have broken in the past and damaged it... :( I just gave away my spare timing cover too. Quote Link to comment

metalmonkey47
yeah, I gotta clean it up, but JB weld is the shitttt. BTW, when you have bieber hair, 1/2 drive tools, always wear safety glasses. Those guys are heavy and leave mean marks on your face. Quote Link to comment
nismo dr
But I would be looking for what caused that, get the oil pan off yet? Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
But I would be looking for what caused that, get the oil pan off yet? Yup! And confirmed my suspicion that at some point, the timing chain broke. There's a single roller that was sitting in the pan and some other scraps. I inspected the chain and it looks brand new.
