If so i assume the z car 5spd will fit too? I regret selling my zcar 5spd for pennies on the dollar $50 LOL Quote Link to comment
datzenmike Posted April 12, 2008 Report Share Posted April 12, 2008 There were two (at least) 4 spds for the 240 Z car a F4W71A and an F4W71B with similar ratios but not exact. The 510 sedan and wagon used the F4W63L and there were differences in gearing between them also. (the wagon having a much lower first gear) The Z car 5 speed is much longer than the 510 transmission and though it will bolt up, the drive shaft needs to be shortened. As for the Z 4 speed, measure from front to back to be sure. I think you will find it's around 31.5" long. If so it won't fit the 510 without shortening the drive shaft. Quote Link to comment
